Shadow

Look behind you are losing your shadow.

You limp ahead and feel only denied.

My love, ahead is not a place to go.

For you to move forward you needn't follow.

Let their pervy eyes sink; don't let them guide.

Look behind you are losing your shadow.

We met at dusk when the light was at low.

The ongoing search for a place to hide.

My love, that way is not a place to go.

Your eyes of today sees friends and thinks foe.

It has always been your right to decide.

Look behind you are losing your shadow.

Now before dawn we stand; good things shall follow.

Just this once hold onto me; leave their side.

My love their way is not a place to go.

Your shadow will get darker; you will glow.

This phase shall repeat, we will face the tide.

Look behind you are losing your shadow.

My love ahead is not a place to go.
