My Father Weeps

My Father Weeps

darkness comes undone, the gallows rest,
a poignant peace breathes, an eulogy for the beast,
my lashes crumple, eyes impede the harrowing sight,
let the veils stay, no bloods to weep, no children to fight.

flowers don't wilt, the seasons of mighty cold,
lay in sorrow my son, the night has come undone,
screams, and cries, some songs best wept,
lifeless shadow crawls, amidst hopes unkept.

lie, for they will see, fly, for they will flee,
the light that unfurls the key, triumphs that need no attendee,
son, oh son, breathe the night, swallow the dream,
for beasts dwell these lands, under the shadow of humanity.
